This large Edwardian villa was compromised by a conservatory which blocked access and views from the house to the rear garden and was also uncomfortable to use in both winter and summer. We replaced the conservatory with a new contemporary extension providing a large open kitchen/dining space and new utility room, shower and cloak room.
A wide raised terrace forms an intermediate space between the house and the main garden, beneath a bespoke aluminium pergola designed to give shading in the summer, but to optimise sunlight in the winter.
